Welcome to the website for the independent, peer reviewed human rights impact assessment being conducted of Goldcorp Inc.’s operations at the Marlin Mine. The Assessment was proposed by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) Staff Pension Fund, The Ethical Funds Company, The First Swedish National Pension Fund and The Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (the “Shareholders”), socially responsible investors that own shares in Goldcorp. Montana Exploradora de Guatemala S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goldcorp, operates the Marlin Mine in the western highlands of Guatemala.

The Assessment is being conducted pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding among Goldcorp and the Shareholders. The assessment process will be guided by the tenets of transparency, independence, and inclusivity and is being directed by a Steering Committee made up of a company representative, a representative of the Shareholders, and a Guatemalan representative. The Assessment will evaluate the policies, procedures, and practices adopted by the company, as well as the impact of those policies and practices on human rights.

Consistent with the tenet of transparency, the Steering Committee established this website as a means of making available to the public information and documents related to the impact assessment. The tabs below provide access to relevant documents from the Steering Committee, the Shareholders, and the Assessment.
